IP ownership in universities analyzed by the American Association of University Professors


In March BVR hosted one of its most popular webinars for technology transfer officers, inviting Hank Foley of Penn State to explain his innovative thinking with respect to faculty-researcher IP ownership rights with industry-sponsored research. Now the American Association of University Professors argues in a comprehensive draft report that the traditional distinction made between IP protected by copyright and IP protected by patents is not valid, and that faculty members should have primary authority over the disposition of all of their IP.  Download the report here.
