Is Apple tiring of litigation?

Some reports suggest that with the recent courtroom setbacks and the settlement of their differences with HTC, Apple management has had enough of the courtroom battles. Not so, says a recent article in Gadgets.

Readers will recall Apple was a major player in the consortium that bought the Nortel patent portfolio in mid-2011. Now Korean news agency Yonhap News is reporting Apple is buying some of those consortium-owned patents outright.  According to the report, Apple has purchased over a thousand of the patents from the Rockstar Bidco consortium to which it belongs.  Ownership will allow Apple to use those patents offensively; prepare to see more, not less, courtroom drama from Cupertino.
